Obtaining employment is a key factor in stabilizing a family. Jobs Partnership of Tulsa empowers churches to teach employment and life skills classes and provide accountable mentoring relationships for job retention.

The Jobs Partnership of Tulsa is transforming lives throughout our city. The Jobs Partnership, established in 1996 in Raleigh, North Carolina, is a collaboration of churches and businesses working together to mentor, train and employ our nation's neediest citizens. The training program brings them from dependency to self-sufficiency as productive citizens of the community and to true wellness.

Churches agree to work together and take on the mission to reach out to, mentor and support each neighbor they sponsor through the Jobs Partnership. A local church that agrees to walk with an individual, to provide all the help needed to reach a place of financial self-sufficiency, embraces a neighbor. For many, transportation, childcare, and housing stand in the way, and the curch provides this assistance, calling upon the many, varied resources found within the local congregation to enable the neighbor to go forward. A personal mentor is assigned from the church to each student sponsored. The mentor's role is to provide the necessary assistance and accountability needed on a daily basis to help the student complete the training.

Local businesses provide a key ingredient to the success of the program: jobs! Participating businesses agree to list their openings with the Jobs Partnership and to seek to employ qualified graduates referred. Businesses also agree to provide employee benefits, training and advancement opportunity, and a mentor for on-the-job support and assistance. The business mentor helps the new employee make the transition into the workplace, providing answers to basic work-related questions.
